How to Manage Your HTML5 eCommerce Store

Follow our step-by-step guide to effectively manage your HTML5 eCommerce store using the Localsearch eCommerce app and desktop platform. 

How to Manage Your HTML eCommerce Store via our App 

Here are the basic features of the Localsearch eCommerce app. This includes adding and updating products, managing orders, updating payment and shipping options.

Step 1

Accessing the app:

  • Localsearch will send you a link to download the app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
  • Localsearch will also send you a QR code, which you will use to log into your store.
  • Treat the QR code like a password and keep it secure.
  • Open the QR code on a different device, open the Localsearch eCommerce app and scan the QR code to log in.
  • You can log in through multiple devices simultaneously.

Step 2

Home screen and to-do list:

  • After logging in, you’ll see your home screen for your store, including reporting information and a to-do list.
  • The to-do list includes actions like shipping paid orders, preparing orders for pick up or restocking low-stock items.

Step 3

Orders tab:

  • The orders tab is the second icon at the bottom of the screen.
  • When you receive an order on your website, it will appear in this list.
  • You can filter orders and change the fulfilment status, payment status and enter a tracking number.
  • Further details of the order can be viewed by scrolling down.

Step 4

Products tab:

  • The products tab is where you can add and edit products you sell in your store.
  • To add a product, select the plus button in the top right corner.
  • The minimum required fields to create a product are the name, image, and price.
  • After creating a product, the app will take you back to the main products tab, where you can edit the product.
  • You can change the price, add a normal price for special items, enable stock control, update the name and description.
  • You can also categorise your products and set additional product settings such as options and discounts.

Step 5

Store tab:

  • The store tab allows you to change payment methods and shipping methods.
  • You can add shipping providers like Australia Post and modify pickup methods.
  • The store tab also provides access to abandoned carts and other settings like holiday mode.

How to Manage Your HTML eCommerce Store on Desktop 

Step 1

Logging in:

  • Your Localsearch representative will send you instructions on how to log in to your Localsearch website.
  • Once logged in, select “Edit” from the site overview.

Step 2

Accessing eCommerce options:

  • After your site loads, you’ll see the eCommerce option in the left menu.
  • Click on it and then select “Manage Store”.

Step 3

Managing orders:

  • In the left menu, click on “My Sales” to see and manage your orders.
  • You can modify individual orders, change payment and shipping statuses and view order details.

Step 4

Catalogue management:

  • Under “Catalogue”, you can add new products or edit existing ones.
  • Make changes such as adding images, updating descriptions, managing stock levels and adjusting prices.
  • Remember to click “Save” in the top right after making any changes.

Step 5

Product options and modifiers:

  • In the “Options” tab, you can modify options for your products and price modifiers associated with those options.
  • Don’t forget to click “Save” after making any changes.

Step 6

Payment settings:

  • At the bottom of the left menu, find “Payment Settings”.
  • Add and edit payment methods such as Stripe, Afterpay and Square.

Step 7

Shipping and pickup methods:

  • In the left menu, locate “Shipping and Pickup Methods”.
  • Edit how you deliver products to customers by adding new delivery methods or modifying existing ones.

Step 8

Store settings:

  • Under “Settings” and “General”, you can find options to close your store to the public.
  • This is useful for maintenance or days when you don’t want to make sales.
  • Remember to reopen your store when you’re ready to resume selling.
